Price
One payment of €49 covers the 1.x line, updates included. A licence buys the four actions that take a picture out of the viewer. Everything else is free and does not expire.
€49
including VAT · one payment · no subscription · perpetual licence for the 1.x line
- Save an image, copy a frame to the clipboard, save a sprite sheet, and record a turntable, in Windows Explorer and in Directory Opus.
- One edition holds every feature.
- Every 1.x update is free.
- Use it on every machine you work on yourself.
- No account and no activation. The licence is checked on your own machine, so nothing about your copy depends on a server of mine staying up.
- Works offline, including inside a studio network that cannot reach the internet.
What “including VAT” means
€49 is the total in every country, whatever the local rate. Nothing is added at checkout. The key arrives by email, so there is no delivery charge.
What is free, and what you are paying for
Thumbnails, the preview pane and the viewer window are free, in Windows Explorer and in Directory Opus, on every supported file. They need no key and they never expire.
A licence buys the four actions that take a picture out: a saved image, a copied frame, a sprite sheet, and a recorded turntable. Without a key those buttons still respond, and pressing one opens a card that names the action and links to this page.
Install it, run it on your own files for as long as you like, and know whether it works on your machine before you pay.
What you need
It runs on Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit. Windows Explorer gets thumbnails and the preview pane on a plain installation, and the installer adds the Directory Opus 13 plugin where it finds Opus. The renderer needs a graphics card with Vulkan 1.2 or newer.
A machine without one still gets thumbnails and an orbitable preview. The full list of supported formats is on the product page.
Refunds
Everything except the four paid actions runs before you pay, so the renderer, the formats and your graphics card can all be tested first. The refunds page says what happens if you want the money back.
Later versions
Your payment covers everything in the 1.x line. A later major version would be 2.x at its own price, and I intend to offer existing owners an upgrade price.
Who you actually pay
Paddle sells this as merchant of record, so Paddle is the legal seller and the name on your card statement and your invoice. The software is licensed to you by me, under the terms.
Paddle charges and remits the VAT for your country, so the price above is the price you pay. A business buying in the EU can enter its VAT ID in their checkout for the reverse charge.
Buying through the Microsoft Store
Heimdall3D on the Microsoft Store is the Windows Explorer half. A packaged app may not write into another application's install folder, so the Directory Opus plugin comes from the installer on this site.
The licence is the same in both places. One key covers the four actions in Windows Explorer and in Directory Opus, wherever you bought it.
